Rev. John Folk
Pastor
The Rev. John Folk began as the designated pastor of Trinity Reformed U.C.C. in the January of 2024. While he loves all aspects of parish ministry, it is in the context of serving those in the greatest need that he finds his passion. He has served as a part of the UCC Board of Directors, Bethany Children’s Home Board of Directors, General Synod Implementation Team, Rejoicing Spirits, CWS CROP Walk coordination team and has had a particular focus on the planning and facilitation of conference meetings along with the youth ministry events including youth@synod and conference, regional, and national youth events and activities.
He is a 2013 graduate of Lancaster Theological Seminary, receiving both a Master of Divinity and a certificate in youth and young adult ministry. Prior to serving in parish ministry, John held positions in project & program management, service delivery, loss prevention, operations management, and was the least successful hot dog vendor in the history of Farmer Brown's Market.
John is married to his husband, Frank Orrs. They share a home that was originally St. Mary's School, a one-room schoolhouse, in Elverson, Pennsylvania. They love to travel & have two dogs: Joey (named after Joe Paterno) and Noah.
John has been a member of the United Church of Christ for most of his life. He is firmly committed to the denomination’s stance on offering an extravagant welcome along with our capacity to appreciate the past while listening carefully for the still speaking voice of God leading us toward new, exciting, and sometimes unexpected ways of being the church.
